** AVOID NEGATIVE THINKING **
----------------------------------------------------
What happens in your life is a result of the way you think. Your
thinking directs your emotions, which in turn direct your behavior.
What you tell yourself, or what you think about your circumstances, may keep
you stuck in a bad situation. That is why recognizing what you tell
yourself is so important.
Imagine that a friend is late to meet you. Depending on what you
THINK (i.e., she was in an accident, she's rude, I wanted to do something else
anyway), you might be worried, annoyed, or relieved. These feelings
(ignited by the thoughts) can then dictate how you react, i.e. calling the
police, having angry words for her, or being glad she bailed on you.
POSITIVE THINKING CREATES POSITIVE RESULTS.
1. YOU WILL MAKE IT
Don't give up! Results come from
taking small steps, one after another, day after day, until you reach your
goal. It WILL happen. Don't
expect it to happen overnight, but expect it to happen.
2. COMPLAINING IS NOT OK.
You attract what you put out. If you have a habit of complaining, you
can expect a continual stream of negative people and events.
3. LOOK AFTER THE LITTLE THINGS
You can accomplish the big things with the little things out of the way.
It’s never one big idea that makes the difference, it’s the
combination of details that have been looked after.
If you went out for dinner and everything was perfect…except for the
hair in your food, would you still be impressed?
4. HAVE A PLAN, NOT A DREAM
Can you become a concert pianist by imagining yourself sitting on stage
regularly for 10 years? Of course
not! It requires practice and
discipline. Anything you want can
be accomplished as long as you carefully plan your goals.
5. IDENTIFY AND USE YOUR TALENTS
Just because something comes naturally to you doesn’t mean it’s easy for
everyone. Identify what you love
and do well and write something about it each week.
In a few years, you’ll recognize how much you know and how others can
benefit from your expertise. Things
aren’t worthwhile simply because they’re difficult, often the most
valuable things we have to offer are the things that we enjoy the most.
6. CREATE POSITIVE GOALS
Your mind can’t hold a negative. TRY!
Don’t think about a Pink Elephant!
The only way to do it is to actively think about something else…like
a Pink Polar bear! If you focus on
a NEGATIVE goal like “Losing Weight” you will never succeed long-term.
You must create a positive image and a positive goal.
Think of the body you want to have…what does it look like?
What do you have to do to achieve that figure?
Set the goal of adopting a regular exercise routine and an insistence
of eating healthy…FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE.
NOW you’ll succeed!
7. YOU MATTER/THE POWER OF ONE.
The only difference between you and the people who are making a powerful
impact in the world today is their choice to do so.
You won’t make the impact they are starting tomorrow, but if you
start today, the difference you will have made 20 years from today will be so
incredible that YOU will be the one we’re referring to!
It’s simply a matter of beginning and doing a little every day.
